In the highly volatile Nordic energy market, where trading windows are tight and delays directly impact revenue, WHES has demonstrated exceptional execution speed by delivering, installing, and commissioning a 1.1MW / 2.56MWh commercial and industrial energy storage system in Sweden within just 26 days—from contract signing to full grid connection and market participation. The project, completed during the 2025 winter season, highlights WHES's ability to meet urgent customer needs while maintaining high standards of reliability, engineering quality, and operational readiness.

The deployment was driven by a time-critical replacement request. In late November 2025, Swedish VPP optimization service provider GreenVoltis was approached by a customer whose existing storage system had repeatedly failed, preventing it from participating in market trading ahead of the peak winter electricity price period and creating an immediate revenue-loss risk. GreenVoltis sought a supplier with proven technical reliability, compliance with Swedish grid codes, local equipment availability, and the ability to deploy within weeks.

WHES's European inventory and regulatory compliance enabled the rapid turnaround. The company maintains a central European warehouse in the Netherlands where standard system configurations are stocked, allowing immediate equipment availability for the Swedish site. The system carries key international and regional certifications—including UL9540A, UN38.3, EN 50549, IEC 62933, and Sweden-specific EIFS 2018:2 third-party approvals—and is registered with Energiföretagen, which accelerated grid-connection approval.

The project followed a compressed timeline:

  • December 1 – Solution confirmed and contract signed
  • December 9 – Payment completed
  • December 19 – Equipment shipped from the Netherlands and delivered to site
  • December 22 – Installation completed
  • December 23 – WHES OS energy management system integrated with GreenVoltis's trading platform, enabling millisecond-level dispatch response
  • December 24 (Christmas Eve) – System commissioned and entered the Nordic spot and FFR markets

Technical performance supported the fast deployment. The solution uses CATL cells paired with WHES in-house power conversion systems, offering low degradation and extended cycle life. It operates reliably from –20°C to 55°C, suiting Nordic climates, and the integrated WHES OS enables intelligent dispatch optimization. The system meets Nordic ancillary service requirements with frequency containment reserve response times under 100 milliseconds. Local European inventory eliminated the typical 6–8 week overseas shipping delay, allowing order-to-operation within a single month.

This project reflects WHES's repeatable delivery model—combining global logistics, localized inventory, and end-to-end service capabilities to support time-critical storage deployments. To date, WHES has delivered over 600 energy storage projects across more than 50 countries, serving commercial and industrial, grid-scale, virtual power plant, and microgrid applications. As electricity markets grow more dynamic, customers increasingly need solutions that deploy quickly, operate reliably under demanding conditions, and ensure consistent market participation. WHES continues to focus on delivering storage systems that meet these requirements through standardized processes, proven technology, and predictable performance.
