FAQ

Does the device support off-grid solution?

1. It can support off-grid solution, but it requires a network connection. The device must be connected to the network, done the WIFI configuration and be online. If you cannot keep it online for a long time, the warranty may be affected.
2. Off-grid solution, the load needs to be connected to the EPS port, so the high-power inductive load or capacitive load may not operate or affect the normal operation of the BESS.

How many photovoltaic panels can the inverter connect?

1. Such as the maximum PV input power of the 6kW inverter is 8000W, there are two MPPT, each MPPT maximum input power is 4000W, and each string open circuit voltage is 600V, it is recommended to install panels according to the upper limit of MPPT voltage.
2. The calculation is based on the open circuit voltage and power of the solar panels, which is strictly required not to exceed 600V, and the excess power will be wasted.
3. If the working current of the solar panel exceeds the maximum input current of the inverter, the solar panel can also be used, but the system can only generate power according to the maximum input current.

How to reconfigure the WIFI of BESS?

The master account (the ECOS account who do the WIFI configuration for the BESS) needs to remove the device from the account and reconfigure the WIFI again according to the WIFI configuration steps.

How to share devices on ECOS?

Enter the bottom function bar - "Me" - "Device management" - "Device details" - "Device QR code", and share it to other ECOS accounts which are registered in the same area.

What does the feed-in percentage mean?

1. This percentage calculation is based on the inverter power parameters. For example, for a 6kW machine, setting 100% feed-in means that the system can export power to grid with a maximum power of 6kW.
2. If 50% is set, the system will export power to the grid with a maximum power of 6kW × 50% = 3kW.
3. If there is no need to export power to grid, just set it to 0%.

How to change the device operating mode?

Enter the ECOS homepage, touch the "Mode" function on the bottom function bar, enter the device mode setting interface, select different modes, set specific parameters and save.

How to simply understand the three operating modes, self-powered, time-based control and backup mode?

1. Self-powered: The system firstly uses solar power and supply to the home loads, the excess solar power to charge the battery, if there still has excess solar power, it will be output to the grid according to the settings of feed-in percentage. If the solar power is not enough to power the load, battery will discharge to loads, if the battery power is still not enough, this time the power will be taken from the grid. The use of the grid will only happen when there are not enough solar power and battery power.
2. Time-based control: According to the requirements, you can set the battery charging and discharging time periods, such as charging the battery when the electricity price is low, and selling electricity when the price is high. The system supports four charging and discharging periods. During the discharge period, the battery can generate full power exporting to grid.
3. Backup: The critical loads need to be connected to the EPS port. Under normal circumstances, the battery will retain more than 80% SOC. After the power grid is cut off, the system will continuously supply power to the EPS critical loads.
